Gulf is like a lake today. Nothing in the forecast to make waves as of this morning. Good time for some end of summer fishing.

The small swell from yesterday has become smaller. Surf is running knee high today. Forecast is for 2 foot seas the rest of the week. Here is one photo from Hurricane Dean swell.

Back to knee high
Green water, no wind, knee high maybe occasional waist high. Fun on longboard maybe. Alot of seaweed and wood on the beach and in the water from the high tide.

Afternoon Update
Wind is still on the surf. Solid chest to shoulder high but washing through. Fun surf but pretty disorganized.

A little morning sickness
Definitely plenty of surf this morning. Tides came up to dunes last night so look out for wood and other debri scattered on beach. Surf is has some morning sickness but will probably settle down and get fun through out the day. Light SE wind this morning.

Mid_Day Update
Surf is solid head head and still building. Strong East wind on it and disorganized but no current and plenty of size. Fifty mile bouy is showing 5-7 feet. Seas off South Padre Island have built to swell of 10-15 feet. Tide is pushing water up to the dunes.

Swell is showing
Solid chest high surf and building. Disorganized this morning with ESE wind 10 mph. Surf should get bigger and wind is forecasted to blow 20+ mph from the SE. Tropical rain showers will change conditions through out the day. Buoys off South Padre show 14+ foot waves offshore

Twenty foot swell ++
20 foot swell in the Yucatan Basin according to the National Buoy located in Caribbbean. Here on Padre Island we still have sloppy, choppy thigh high surf. Waves should begin to build on SE wind through today. Wednesday and Thursday is the window for Hurricane Dean swell. Middle Gulf bouy 42001 is showing 6.6 ft waves.

Not much surf today. Knee to thigh high on the inside. National Hurricane Center is forecasting Dean to move into Mexico much further south now. Wave models still show Corpus receiving swell on Wednesday.

Evening update
Still waves this evening but not as good as this morning. Running chest high with slight north to south current. Dumping on the inside and mushy on the outside. Forecast calls for surf to last through tomorrow. Keep an eye on DEAN for the next swell.

Waves are running shoulder high ++ with good form. Light offshore wind this morning. Conditions will change through out the day with each tropical band that comes through

No waves on the beach...yet
No waves yet. Probably be mid-morning to early afternoon before the swell hits the beach. Middle Gulf and SPI buoy are 5 ft. Forecast is for 8+ foot seas today through tomorrow with potential for Tropical Storm conditions. Keep an eye on National Hurricane Center.

Swell on the Way
No waves yet this morning but 20o mile buoy is starting to show swell. Forecast models show 6 foot+ swell hitting late tonight. Might have a little bit of surf late this evening.
